The Milton-Union
Red, White, and Run 5k
Presented by the Milton-Union Alliance
July 4, 2025 | 8AM
The Milton-Union Red, White, and Run 5k is held at the Lowry Sports Complex behind Milton-Union Schools with a course that winds through the woods! Please note this course does go off-road and has slightly inconsistent footing for portions of the race through grass and dirt areas.
This 5k race is great for both competitive racers and for families and children!

A Race Should be Enjoyed.
Our goal with the race is to make it a competitive event, with prizes for course records and race domination. BUT... we also know that most people aren't running for world domination - so we want them to have FUN!

Post-Race Water Fight
Bring your water guns and join us for a post-race water fight.

Rules and Regulations
The Not So Fine Print
Race Waiver
By signing up for the race, you are required to complete a waiver which forever releases any and all rights and claims for damages or injuries that you may have against Speedy Feet, RunSignup.com, the Milton-Union Alliance and all of their agents assisting with the event, sponsors and their representatives, volunteers and employees for any and all injuries to me or my personal property. This release includes all injuries and/or damages suffered by you before, during or after the event. You recognize, intend and understand that this release is binding on your heirs, executors, administrators, or assignees.

Race Conditions
This race is held no matter the weather conditions and no refunds will be provided. The race course primarily is on road surface, but does have over 0.5 mile of off-road running over grass and through groomed dirt areas within the woods that may have roots or other debris in the running pathway. By running the race, you are stating your understanding of these conditions.

Strollers
Due to the uneven nature of the run through the woods, the use of jogging strollers is strongly discouraged. Walkers with standard walking-strollers must start in the *BACK* of the pack. Runners who elect to participate with strollers, against the RRCA safer racing guidelines, must start on the edge/side of the race. Persons with strollers found in the middle or front of the starting pack, or inhibiting other participants in any way, will be removed from the event.

Animals
No Animals (e.g. dog, chickens, or otherwise). Only service dogs are allowed, and the Race Director may ask for confirmation that the dog is a service animal. Persons with any other animals will be removed from the event. Those with service dogs may be asked to start on the side of the race or in the back, away from the pack (the race is chip timed, so this won't affect your time).

Headphones
Headphones are *strongly discouraged*. Although this is an off-road course and vehicles will not be an issue, they reduce your ability to hear race commands or people around you yelling to look at the cool bird in the tree. We aren't going to stop you, but we hope you consider not using them.

Race Officials
Race officials commands, including those of the race directors, volunteers, safety, medical, fire, and other professionals shall be followed at all times, especially when concerning the safety, health, and well-being of any and all participants.

Race Results
All participants will get a timing chip from Speedyfeet that must be kept throughout the race. Participants are responsible for wearing their number and having their chip throughout the event. Although we will work with participants the best we can, we want to be clear that if a participant doesn't have a chip, they won't appear in the results and will not be eligible for awards. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SECURE YOUR TIMING CHIP.

Race Distance / Course Measurement
We have measured the course multiple times. We believe this is an honest 3.1 miles. If you feel differently that is fine.

Water Fight
We are certainly supportive of fun, but want to make sure everyone is safe and therefore we have setup guidelines for the water fight which include that only squirt guns are to be used. Although we like water balloons, they can hurt someone and also require additional pick up. Hopefully, everyone can have fun! We are hopeful to have support from the local fire department as well!
